what lies under Nae's rock
randomness that lurks around my hollow head ends up here.

- Him: I know but love you still, Nae.
- Nae: I hate you right now.
Drunk texting…
Totally regrettable.
Today was the day he told me to take care of myself and be happy. So today, I will take time for myself and be less grumpy.
Oh and yesterday, he told me he loves me numerous times when I told him to shut up… :-)
I love my best friend :-)
Your life is the best story ever, and eternal happiness you shall have!
Day 2 - Patong Beach, Phuket
6am and my eyes just decided to open and wake me up. It was dark outside and forced myself back to sleep. Fail.
So I decided to call my parents via Skype. Checked in and advised them that I’m still alive and well. After which, I napped or surfed the net.
Then we headed down and went out to explore the town of Patong. It was drizzling. It was overcast. Not a ray of sunshine in sight. Then it started pouring more. We had to seek shelter in a closed bar. The streets are still relatively deserted. We then found Jungceylon Mall. What better way to start the day than to window shop!
Wow it’s so quiet. JUST WHERE IS EVERYONE??? I know it’s raining, but do they really just stay at home and hide?
Walked around and saw that shops open 11am and close 11pm. DUDE. Lol! Ok. So there’s nothing to do at the moment. Let’s have Starbucks.
We waited until the rain subsided a little. Then we set off to our journey to explore the streets of Patong Beach. It’s so deserted and it’s already 10am! This is crazy! But of course, you have your street vendors asking if we want a tour, taxi or tuk tuk. Terrible. But we just dodge them. Sidewalks are slippery and crowded. It’s still drizzling. But the rain comes and goes. So the umbrella opens and closes too. Lol.
We decided to book our tour while we’re at it. Since we’re waiting for the town to wake up. Big Saturday night, Patong? So we went to the least dodgiest looking travel agent and decided to book it there. We took our time with picking which ones to go to. We were set in doing 3 only… We wanted to rest in between the tours. Sounded like a solid plan!
6 tours in 5 days. That’s what we ended up booking. So much for relaxing!
We continued to walk around. Rain still on and off. Soon enough, we gave up and just walked in the drizzle.
Finally everything is starting to wake up and open. We stayed on the central side of Patong. Went in and out of shopping centers. Went through little alleyways of knock-offs shops. So many of them! Nice welcome to Patong beach :-)
People have advised us against this place… But meh, we wanna experience this! Plus, we’ll be touring most of the time, so we’ll just be around this place to sleep and eat.
Lunch time! Geez we were at the travel agency for quite sometime. He’s pretty good. Maybe we didn’t get the biggest discount but it’s big enough compared if we booked it back in Sydney. He also checked the weather for us to make sure we arrange our tours well enough.
Ok so lunch. What should we get? Thai? I guess it’d be good to eat Thai in Thailand! Erm… Yeah, no. AU BON PAIN!!! Yummo! I had smoked salmon bagel with lychee frosty. Lol! How white is this?!? Aw well. Let’s play it safe for now.
So all day long we checked out shops at Jungceylon. Prices are pretty much similar to back home. I can even get cheaper there…
Black out!!! Dude! What the?!?! Main shopping centre and there’s no electricity?!? Effffffff this! I need to freaking pee!!! So I had to pee in the dark with nothing but a phone to light me. The disturbing part is that I heard a dude’s voice in the toilets. Made me think twice if I went in the right one! But I started hearing the girl voices. Phew! Must be a lady boy… Lol! First encounter… But then again, I probably saw one and didn’t even notice it!
We just walked in and out, left and right, up and down- just to explore. This mall is so westernized! Not just because of the white people around.
Dinner was Hot Pot. So not Thai. But oh so yummy. Quite cheap too!!! I think we paid $20 between us 2.
So here is the summary of our first day… Relax and explore and eat. I’m glad that we did this because we ain’t getting no rest for the next 5 days!
So back to the hotel since we have an early start tomorrow. Crap our key doesn’t work! They opened our door but key still didn’t work. I had to tell them to fix it so we can have our own one. They said 2 hours. Yeah right.
And sleep.
Day 1 - Phuket, Thailand
Woke up 6am for our flight. Got ready and got my excitement on! It was freezing this morning and I am glad to go on a holiday to thaw out. Carlo picked Fran and I up and headed to the airport.
Did someone say third wheel? Yup, hands up right here.
Checked in then had breakfast. Mmm quiche. We then went around the airport to find me some chips. I want nibbles when I watch my movies.
“Hey Nae, there’s a newsagent.” OMG! Let’s get my sudoku book!!! And so I did. 201 pages of beautiful boxes, some with numbers and some waiting for me to solve which numbers to put in.
Headed off to the gate. Our timing is always impeccable. No long waits, just enough time to sit and relax our feet.
Boarding time! Ooohhh! This is getting more realistic now! I like getting on an airplane. I miss traveling! I shall do more of them soon! Walked passed by the business class- oh how I wanted to stop and just sit there! I miss you too. Kept walking as our seats were towards the back. Window and aisle seats… No awkward random person sitting with us.
Congratulations Thai Airways, you are on time :-) And so we fly to the skies!
Time for my first movie of the flight- Something Borrowed. I’ve been wanting to watch this movie! I finally get to watch it! It was major chick flick- just how I like it. It’s cute and cheesy. I like. It isn’t the best movie or storyline, but it’s a feel good movie.
Lunch was alright. Kinda heavy. The red curry was a lil bit spicy but heaps nice :-) I like!
5 hours passed and we are still in Australian airspace. My seat was ok. Not the most comfortable space but I’m not complaining… Yet. The air smelt like the aftermath of curry lunch. No, not from me, from other passengers. I forgot this is why I barely sit along the aisle.
More movies… Prom, Arthur, PS I Love You. And of course, more sudoku!
So let’s skip to when they gave us another meal. Liars! You said light meal! Noodles is so not light. But it was yum. Didn’t get to finish it though.
This is a bum’s life right here- eat, watch movies, sleep, eat again… This is killing me.
1000000 hours later. Ok fine, 5pm local time. We finally arrived at Bangkok. It’s quiet for a Saturday. Nice airport, clean, quiet. We walked to our transfer gate. Got out visas too- 3 weeks… Tempting. Just kidding.
Once again, waited for our plane. It’s raining outside :-( But Thai Airways, you are once again on time. You are on my good book :-)
1 hour later, we’re now at Phuket!!! Yeay!!! Picked up my luggage! It’s the first one out! So I ran to get it. Arrived in one piece.
Our driver was waiting for us outside. Just spoke one word of English- wait. I assumed he wanted us to wait while he gets his car. It was a Toyota Camry. Nice car and worth the money we paid. It was about 40-minute ride to the hotel. It was a pleasant ride- leather seats and all.
Arrived at the hotel. Not too fancy. It’s small. We were greeted with a drink, nice touch. Friendly people and spoke English. Check in took 10 minutes and we were up in our room. They gave us a double bed. I didn’t mind. I was just that tired. Started to unpack, got a knock on the door… We’re in the wrong room. Packed up again and moved one floor down. Ahhh, single beds now. Makes more sense. The room is small but it has pretty much everything we need. It’s clean too! So I am not complaining yet.
Took a shower and got ready for bed. Also rested and just laid down and watched TV to relax for a long week ahead. Got the Internet on and checked in with the fam.
And sleep. Tomorrow awaits!
